through the heart of the vineyards along the Route des Grands Crus and off the beaten track. You will discover picturesque villages, Romanesque churches, manors (12th century), ancient monasteries, castles, Clos de Vougeot, Romanée Conti…
Learning about vineyards and wines...
the way their quality is regulated and controlled, the importance of terroir and the vintages. You will learn how to read a wine label and whether to open a wine bottle straight away or save it for a while. You will discover the secrets of how a great wine is made – the cultivation of the vines using methods that respect nature, the art of pruning, methods of production, ageing in oak casks and then in bottles.
Tasting...
at least four to five wines in each cellar visited. Cellars and wines have been selected by us for their representative quality. You will be taught tasting techniques and how best to complement different foods with different wines.
