 The peaceful Serein Valley
|
Visit the village of Montréal, perched atop a rounded hill, where the early Gothic church contains some very handsome stalls dating from the Renaissance. You then follow the course of the river Serein to admire the old priory of Vausse whose cloister, chapel and garden form a delightful whole. Finally you come to Noyers-sur-Serein. Thanks to its half-timbered houses with rustic carvings, little columns and sculpted pinnacles, this medieval village fully deserves to be listed among "the most beautiful villages of France".
