 One-Day Discovery of Burgundy Wines
|
As part of your stay in Dijon, we propose a new product designed to introduce you to the fascinating world of Burgundy wine. Glass in hand, you will be initiated into the tasting of the fabled great wines of Burgundy.
This one-day programme, conducted in English by a professional from the Burgundy Wine School, has been specially devised to introduce you to the principal treasures of the Côte de Nuits vineyards as well as the town of Beaune, the historical capital of Burgundy wine.
By the end of the day, you will have begun to penetrate the secrets of these wines of exception, known and appreciated throughout the world. The itinerary is also an opportunity to travel though beautiful countryside and to meet winegrowers and oenologists who will be thrilled to share their enthusiasm for their land, their profession and their wine with you.

This One-Day Discovery of Burgundy Wines includes: documentation, audio-visual lecture in tasting room on winegrowing in Burgundy; tasting with commentary on 4 Burgundy wines; lunch/tasting accompanied by 3 Burgundy wines; guided visit of the Hospices de Beaune, the vineyards of the Côte de Nuits and the Château du Clos de Vougeot; tasting in a traditional wine property.

Halt at the foot of the Grand cru Romanée-Conti appellation. Interpretation of the land (terroirs, cépages, climat) and notions of winegrowing
[10.30 am - Presentation of winegrowing Burgundy and the wines of Burgundy
Reception at the Burgundy Wine School (Ecole des Vins de Bourgogne), Beaune
Audio-visual presentation of the Burgundy winegrowing area and its wines
Introduction to wine tasting: learning how to look, smell and taste
Tasting with commentary of 4 Burgundy wines from the Prestige Cellar
12.30 pm - Lunch/wine-tasting in a gastronomic restaurant in Beaune, accompanied by 3 Burgundy wines
2.30 pm - Arrival at the Hôtel Dieu via the old streets of the historical capital of Burgundy wine and guided visit of the Hospices de Beaune
4.00 pm - Tasting in a traditional wine property of the Côte de Nuits
5.15 pm - Return to Dijon. In the coach: Diploma of Honour distributed to each participant
6 pm - Arrive in Dijon in time for the departure of the TGV at 6.18 pm or return to the hotel
