The Combe Lavaux is a dry, blind valley situated on the territory of the villages of Gevrey-Chambertin and Brochon. It was declared a nature reserve and given the name of Combe Lavaux Jean Roland in tribute to the Dijon-born naturalist who was director of the French Nature Reserve Association from 1992 to 2004. This classified site stretches over a little more than 486 hectares and contains numerous plant and animal species.
