Château d'Entre-Deux-Monts
|
At the edge of the Mantuan forest, this beautiful estate founded around the year 1000 by the Duke of Burgundy is in the Louis XIII style since it was rebuilt in the first half of the 17th century. It was embellished in 1733 by the adjunction of a park with an orangery and an ice house. The owners whose family has been living in this castle for more than 150 years, propose to you a historical presentation and a guided tour of the first floor of the West wing (16th and 17th century), the sailing navy museum (in progress), the ground floor of the main building with a living room and a 4-room apartment, Sainte-Gertrude’s chapel (17th century), one of the most beautiful pigeon houses in Burgundy (16th century) and vaulted stables (16th century). You will also have the opportunity to walk around the dry moats and the park with its vaulted rooms (the orangery and the ice cellar) dating from 1733 and to discover the underground passage.
